In this piece, 365 rotis morph through the waxing and waning phases of the moon, as though aeons of time were passing through an ever-changing lunar almanac. Each roti slowly transforms, and as every individual cycle completes, the entire lunar year shifts moment by moment.

Within the brief life cycle of this three-minute video, the eternal flow of time is compressed into a parenthesis of duration shaped like a year.

At any moment in the video, if we pause on a frame in which, for instance, the 1st of January appears as a full moon, that configuration corresponds not to a single year but to every year in which that alignment has occurred or will occur. One instant might correspond to the lunar phases of 2012 AD, the next to 5 BC, another to 2738 AD, and so on.
