Event Horizon is the panoramic view of a street stitched together from photographs taken at multiple points in time, creating an elongated streetscape where a single moment is seemingly stretched to accommodate the past, present and future. It builds on the artist’s enduring interest in time and its distortions, expressed in works such as Artist Making Local Call (2005). As a viewer moves in front of Event Horizon, each of the seven frames flips slowly to reveal the colours of the spectrum; as if a rainbow had descended on to the street.
